ALS Scandinavia offers boron isotope analysis of 10B and 11B. Analysis of boron isotope ratios is useful in a variety of fields including:
- Enrichment control in the nuclear industry
- Pollution source tracing
- Exposure source tracing
The analysis of boron (B) isotopes can be carried out by two techniques, ICP-SFMS (high resolution ICP-MS) and MC-ICP-SFMS (multicollector ICP-SFMS).

Research - Boron isotope analysis
Our isotope research is done in close co-operation with several external institutions, particularly the Divisions of Applied Geology and Chemistry at Luleå University of Technology. Our research has resulted in the below publication(s) relating to boron isotope analysis:
- Inter-comparison of boron isotope and concentration measurements. Part II: Evaluation of results
- Ranges of B, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Pb, Sr, Tl, and Zn Concentrations and Isotope Ratios in Environmental Matrices from an Urban Area
- Assessment of the natural variability of B, Cd, Cu, Fe, Pb, Sr, Tl and Zn concentrations and isotopic compositions in leaves, needles and mushrooms using single sample digestion and two-column matrix separation
