Asbestos

asbestos analyses

ALS Scandinavia offers the identification of asbestos in air, dust, and material samples. There are several types of fiber, and it is important to be able to separate "dangerous" fibers, like asbestos, from less dangerous ones, e.g., mineral wool. It is possible to identify organic fibers (e.g., cellulose and textile), synthetic inorganic fibers (e.g., mineral and glass wool), natural mineral fibers and asbestos.

asbestos in brief

Asbestos is a group of fibrous minerals with properties like high tensile strength, very good thermal and electrical insulation properties, and resistance to chemicals.

When the hazards of asbestos were discovered, its use was banned in many countries. Within EU, legislation has been under continuous development since the seventies.
